A solution may be on the way for people who have driven through Clifton and been frustrated with the traffic.
The city and DOT have agreed to put a traffic light at the intersection of Valley Road and the ramp from Route 3 West.
The area is under construction, as part of a bigger project to ease congestion where routes 46 and 3 merge.
The light is supposed to be temporary, but Clifton's city manager Dominick Villano believes it could be a long term solution.
"The original design called for a roundabout at that location, but since the project is phased they are still discussing whether the light remains or a roundabout at that location," says Villano. “We'd had some issues with roundabouts so I would prefer the light."
The current congestion and construction project affects Clifton, Woodland Park and Little Falls.
Once it's done, it should significantly reduce delays.
