Lawsuit: Newlyweds say bedbugs ruined their honeymoon in NJ after waking up covered in bites

A newlywed couple says they had some uninvited pests disturb their honeymoon in New Jersey.

According to a lawsuit filed by Emmanuel and Edith Ansah, the couple spent part of their 2021 honeymoon in Somerset. When the couple checked into their room at the Courtyard by Marriott on Davidson Avenue, they said they immediately went to bed. Two hours later, the couple claims they were awakened by a swarm of biting bedbugs.

The lawsuit claims the couple could clearly see bedbugs all over their bed, and bites on their bodies when they turned the lights on, putting an abrupt end to the their honeymoon and causing the couple emotional distress.
