(AP) - New Jersey's assembly speaker has announced the nine members of that chamber who will serve on a state legislative committee probing Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy's handling of sexual assault allegations against a former staffer.
Eight women and one man were named to the panel Tuesday. It now has 15 members overall.
Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin also announced that Joseph Hayden Jr., a partner in the Hackensack-based law firm Pashman Stein Walder Hayden, will serve as the committee's co-counsel alongside Michael Critchley.
The panel will review claims by a top state housing agency aide who said she was assaulted in 2017 by a then-campaign staffer who worked in Murphy's administration until this month. It's not yet known if the panel will have subpoena power.
