A hi-tech law enforcement exercise was held on Wednesday in Bayville.
The demonstration was aimed at helping first responders and incident commanders to better respond and coordinate a threat scene.
A new innovative app from the Critical Response Group allows users to graph geographical locations and track in real-time the locations of personnel to better handle emergency situations.
"It's a layering that takes place," Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph Coronato says. "That means the first responders, the firefighters, the police, whether it’s the local police, the county police, the prosecutor’s office, state police. We can all communicate on the app."
The plan was developed by elite special operation forces.
Twelve local law enforcement agencies took part in the exercise.
