Police: Lakewood apartment fire kills 1 resident; 4 people displaced

Police have confirmed with News 12 New Jersey that one resident has died after a fire erupted at a Lakewood apartment complex on Wednesday.
Neighbors told News 12 they heard two explosions at the Lakewood Housing Authority apartments at the intersection of Sampson Avenue and East Fourth Street. People who live in the community say the fire started around 2 p.m.
Red Cross New Jersey says four people from three different families were displaced due to the fire.
Red Cross also said it provided the families displaced with emergency assistance for temporary lodging, food and clothing.
