Lakeland Bank has agreed to pay a $13 million settlement in a redlining lawsuit.
The State Justice Department brought the suit against the bank for the illegal practice of avoiding providing credit services to communities due to their race.
Lakeland also must invest in Black and Hispanic neighborhoods in Newark, including opening two new branches in those communities.
