A recent report by the state comptroller's office shows that top managers at a Middlesex County government agency received unwarranted bonuses.
The audit of the Middlesex County Improvement Authority showed that the top management received more than $100,000 in bonuses based upon questionable criteria.
The audit shows that the bonuses were based upon criteria such as "understands and follows instructions," "maintains a proper appearance," and "interacts well with others."
The agency's director, Richard Pucci, received the largest bonus, valued at $55,000.
Pucci says that the audit was out of line and overshadows the good work done by the agency.
