The Better Business Bureau shows that this year, scams increased 50% over 2022.
Gift card scams can take a lot of different forms -- the scammer may pretend you owe taxes or claim to be from a debt collector.
If you're buying a gift card, experts say to make sure the packing is intact and the PIN code is not exposed.
