A juvenile was seriously injured in a crash involving a New Jersey state police vehicle and two other vehicles on the New Jersey Turnpike in Burlington County, according to state police.

The crash happened at about 12:45 a.m. Saturday on the southbound outer roadway near milepost 50.6 in Mansfield Township, said police.

A preliminary investigation found that a Jeep SUV was disabled on the Turnpike, with an unmarked Ford Explorer state police vehicle positioned behind it with its emergency lights activated.

Police said a Honda traveling south struck the rear of the Ford Explorer and the Jeep.

A young passenger in the Honda suffered serious injuries and was taken to an area hospital.

The Honda driver and a state trooper suffered minor injuries and were also taken to a hospital.

No other injuries were reported.
