A judge has dropped the assault charges against Rutgers star football player Leonte Carroo.
Carroo was accused of attacking his former girlfriend after a football game last month and slamming her onto concrete. The woman received injuries on her hip, hands, elbow and head.
The alleged victim was in court, but declined to testify. She also agreed to drop a request for a restraining order.
The judge lectured Carroo on domestic violence. Carroo needs to attend anger management classes.
The team suspended Carroo. His lawyer has said he plans to petition the school to lift the suspension.
Interim Rutgers coach Norries Wilson declined to comment on Carroo's status.
