A massive fight erupted inside a Johnny Rockets in Hoboken after a man was spit on by another patron while ordering food, according to city police.
The incident happened Jan. 14 on Washington Street. Police say two men were ordering food when a man, sitting in a booth with four others, spit on one of the victims. A verbal altercation ensued and another man threw an unidentified item at the victims, police say.
They say the five men then began to physically attack the victims inside the establishment. The fight spilled outside and both victims were knocked out, according to police.
Officials say the two victims were seen by the Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps before refusing further medical attention. They say the victims provided officers with a description of the suspects who had fled the scene.
After a foot pursuit, police say officers caught one of the suspects. They say 19-year-old Christopher Lee, of the United Kingdom, was arrested. Lee was charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest and obstructing the administration of law. He was later transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
