Less than two months after being sentenced to 15 months in federal prison for fraud, the grandson of former mob boss John Gotti has been arrested again, this time on allegations of assaulting his girlfriend.

Carmine Gotti Agnello, 40, is facing multiple charges, including assault, criminal mischief and criminal obstruction of breathing, following an incident Tuesday at his East Norwich home, according to court documents.

Police say Agnello began yelling at his girlfriend, accusing her of cheating.

Investigators allege he then shoved her, slapped and punched her in the face and pushed her to the ground.

Authorities say he also kicked the woman and placed his hands around her neck, obstructing her breathing.

Agnello is also accused of smashing the victim’s iPhone, damaging it beyond repair.

Officers arrested Agnello on Wednesday. The Nassau County District Attorney’s Office said a judge later released him and issued an order of protection.

When a News 12 crew visited Agnello’s home, a car was seen quickly leaving the driveway as reporters approached.

The arrest comes as Agnello is expected to surrender to federal authorities on July 20.

He previously pleaded guilty to fraudulently obtaining $1.1 million in disaster relief funds from the Small Business Administration during the COVID-19 pandemic.
