Joe Giudice, living in Italy since deportation, gives update on coronavirus lockdown
Former “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Joe Giudice took to Instagram to criticize the Italian government’s response to the coronavirus outbreak.
Giudice has been living in Italy ever since his deportation following a prison sentence for tax evasion.
The “Real Housewives” husband posted several short videos on Instagram about the outbreak. One of the videos posted Tuesday showed an empty street in Italy.
“I can’t believe that there is literally nobody out on these streets. Look at this – ghost town…because of this stupid coronavirus,” Giudice said. “People are so scared. Unbelievable. Grow a set of cojones…I guess I’m the only one walking around working today.”
Giudice then posted a video of himself wearing a mask around his neck. “Don’t be afraid,” he said.
A third video posted on Wednesday seems to depict a nuclear mushroom cloud. Giudice did not speak in the video, but the caption read, “I feel the governments can stop this…Set us free…There is a cure it should not lead to humans being [locked] or caged. Our society is losing face to face conversation cause of [phone]. Please don’t allow fear to take our social skills.”
Italian Premier Giuseppe Conte announced Wednesday that all stores except pharmacies and grocery stores would be closed nationwide in response to the outbreak.

The tighter restrictions on daily life are the government’s latest effort to respond to the fast-moving crisis that took Italy’s number of cases from three to 12,462 in less than three weeks.
