Amazon is looking for new employees to staff its new warehouse facility in Carteret when it opens this fall.
The company is looking to fill hundreds of positions, and is holding a series of workshops to help fill them.
About 200 people showed up at the event Monday held at the Carteret Library. The workshop was an opportunity to get help with the online application process as well as get resumes reviewed.
Most of the jobs being filled are entry-level, full-time positions that will offer benefits.
Officials in Middlesex County say these type of jobs are essential for New Jersey residents.
"They pay well and one of the things that's great is that it is a pathway to other careers," says Kevin Kurdziel, director of the Office of Workforce Development for Middlesex County.
Another workshop will be held Tuesday at the Carteret Library from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. More information about how to apply can be found on the Amazon website.
The Carteret facility will be the fourth one Amazon has in the state.
