About 90,000 people of the Jewish faith will gather at MetLife Stadium on New Year’s Day to celebrate the completion of 7 ½ years of study of the Talmud.
The event will be the 13th such occasion and is celebrated by tens of thousands of Jews worldwide.
“Anytime you have a large number of people together, it's a happy event…When other people are completing the Talmud study, it's a celebration,” says celebrant Eric Feinstein.
Traffic around the stadium is expected to be heavy due to the number of attendees and increased security due to several recent attacks in New York and New Jersey linked to anti-Semitism.
There are more than 2,700 pages to the Talmud, so for those who are committed to the process of studying it, it represents a large achievement.
