"We want to be able to continue to go out there and practice if we're all in the right mind space which we all agreed that we were and, obviously, we've been talking, we're going to come up with something that we want to be able to do," said running back Saquon Barkley.
Players said this is an emotional time for everyone, and they know they can use their platform to spark change.
"It's sad that we have to take the time away from football and preparing for a season that is coming up here pretty soon, to talk about these things, another senseless shooting," said wide receiver Sterling Shepard.
"It makes you sick, especially being a Black man, I just know how my parents raised me when you see those situations happening and continue to happen, like I said, words really can't describe," Barkley said.
Other NFL teams that canceled practice included the Colts, Packers, Bears, Titans and Washington.
As for what the Giants plan to do regarding the Blue and White scrimmage on Friday night, players said they're still talking it out as a team.
