Fourth of July morning in Cranford is one of the oldest races in the state: the Cranford Firecracker 4 Miler.
This year is the 44th annual event, and roughly 1,000 runners will crowd the starting line at Nomahegan Park.
The 4-mile run will bring them to Kenilworth and bring them back to the park to finish, with a winning time typically around 20 minutes.
