Technological advancements at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) in Newark provide hope for individuals paralyzed in accidents, including residents.
Morris Knolls resident Antony Mouravskaia, paralyzed in a skiing accident two years ago, can now stand and walk thanks to an exoskeleton device created by NJIT. Though the technology is still developing, it can potentially improve the lives of those previously unable to walk dramatically.
In addition to assisting individuals like Mouravskaia, NJIT collaborates with veterans to make this innovative technology more accessible.
To aid with the expenses associated with exoskeleton therapy sessions, Mouravskaia's mother has established a GoFundMe campaign.
