A team of New Jersey residents traveled to Mount Everest to raise money for a cure for a genetic disorder.
Jim Raffone, of Manalapan, founded the charity Jar of Hope for his son, who has Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
Raffone and other parents of children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, such as Dillon Doeden and Matt Scarfo, climbed to the base camp at Mount Everest.
Once there, the team did push-ups as part of the Jar of Hope charity’s 10 push-ups for $10 campaign.
Dillon raised over $45,000 in donations for Team Connor. Scarfo, who is from Morristown, raised $12,000.
