A New Jersey man will be one of the thousands running in the New York City Marathon this weekend, but he is doing it in honor of his late daughter who was an organ donor.
Michael McDonnell of Manalapan is a retired NYPD detective. His 26-year-old daughter Victoria died earlier this year. She donated her organs and saved the lives of three people.
McDonnell is running with Live On New York, an organization that promotes organ donation. He says that his message is to encourage others to become organ donors.
