Monday, April 28, marked “National Superheroes Day,” and New Jersey saw some heroes in an unlikely place.
The staff at the neonatal intensive care unit at RWJ Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston dressed the newborns up as superheroes because the patients are New Jersey’s tiniest heroes.
The outfits were all knitted by a NICU nurse named Mackenzie.
She wanted to honor the strong determination of the babies and also the families and staff at the hospital.
