A U.S. Navy aircraft carrier that was built in New Jersey is now in its final days after serving the country for five decades.
The U.S.S. Kitty Hawk is currently moored off Brownsville, Texas.
The ship has been stripped of everything and it's just a floating hull now.
It'll be broken down further for scrap in Texas.
The ship was built Camden in 1956. New York Shipbuilding had a dock across from Philadelphia.
At the time, the Kitty Hawk was the biggest carrier the Navy ever built. It was one of the last diesel-fueled carriers before nuclear power took over.
The Kitty Hawk saw action in the Pacific during the Vietnam War and lasted through the war on terror in the Middle East.
Thousands of sailors at some point called her home.
