A New Jersey native made Jersey proud with her work on Broadway's "Phantom of the Opera," which will end this Sunday after a 35-year run in New York City.
Kanisha Feliciano has been a member of the cast of "Phantom" since summer of 2022.
Most nights, she appeared in the Don Juan Triumphant scene, but she had a couple stand-ins as the lead, Christine, to become the first Latina singer to ever play that role.
Feliciano went to Rider University and studied at their famed Westminster Choir College.
With "Phantom" closing, there is news this week that she will head to the Opera of Chicago to play the lead role in "West Side Story," where she will continue to make Jersey proud.
