A scene reminiscent of Norman Rockwell painting comes to life very Thursday evening in Washington Township in Gloucester County.
One can imagine Rockwell painting a picture of a business owner closing and putting a "gone fishing" sign in his door.
On Thursdays, this whole community does just that.
During the summer, local police hold what they call "Cops and Bobbers." Bobbers is a term for fishing.
The whole town picks up a fishing rod, comes down to the local pond and tries their luck.
The community activity has taken off as residents do cookouts and ice cream trucks make their way to the gathering.
They town stocks the pond, which leads kids to catch fishes.
It has created a sense of community that is Jersey Proud.
