The flags are back this week at Cedar Grove High School.
It is one of New Jersey’s most enduring Sept. 11 traditions – a sea of flags to honor the victims of the 2001 terror attack.
Students at the high school spend a few weeks planting a flag for every person who was killed. Next to the flag is a marker that lists the person’s name.
There are nearly 3,000 flags in all.
Cedar Grove has been so consistent with this tradition for 24 years.
The flags will be up for the next couple of weeks for anyone who wants to swing by and pay their respects.
