Jersey Mike’s in Kearny is preparing 75 subs for nurses, doctors and servicemen and women aboard the USNS Comfort.

Jersey Mike’s in Kearny is preparing 75 subs for nurses, doctors and servicemen and women aboard the USNS Comfort.

It’s part of the franchise’s 2-million sub donation challenge. It takes the crew one hour to make the subs, and then franchise owner Tim Jensen delivers them directly to the ship in his own car.
“It’s something dear to my heart as a former Marine and anything we can do to get back to the community,” says Jensen. “Jersey Mike’s has a great culture of giving back to community and I’m just happy to be a part of it.”

Jensen and his staff also donate to local hospitals and children who normally receive subsidized lunches when schools are open.
