Police arrested two people in Jersey City Friday for child endangerment after they allegedly left three very young children in a car while shopping.Police say a customer noticed the children left alone inside a van outside of the Marshalls on Route 440. The customer immediately notified a nearby police officer. Police say they went to each store and paged the owner of the van but no one responded. Officers then decided to get the children out of the van. Police say aside from leaving the children, all under the age of two, out in the cold for more than 25 minutes, the responding officer was able to reach inside the wide open window and unlock the door.Sheryl Brannon and her husband Victor, of Belville, who were supposed to be watching the children, were arrested when they finished shopping and returned to their car. The Brannons are in jail on child endangerment charges. The children have been returned safely to their parents.
