The Smithereens, a rock band born 43 years ago in Carteret, was inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame in 2019. This summer, they will perform at the Wonder Bar in Asbury Park on June 17 as part of the first-ever North to Shore Festival. The festival will have big musical acts at venues all over New Jersey for three weeks.
One of the band’s founders and lead guitarist Jim Babjak visited the News 12 New Jersey studios on Wednesday to talk about the band’s deep New Jersey connections, the festival and more.
North to Shore Festival will be in Asbury Park from June 14 to 18, in Atlantic City June 4 to 11, and in Newark from June 21 to 25.
