The 40th anniversary of Sundance Film Festival takes place this month, and seven films in the festival were shot in the Garden State.
It's not just Newark and Asbury on display at Sundance. Scenes were also shot in places such as Succasunna.
The productions filmed in New Jersey include “I Saw the TV Glow,” “Your Monster,” “Rob Peace,” “Ponyboi,” “Presence,” “Exhibiting Forgiveness” and “A Different Man.”
It's ahead of the promised Netflix studio in Monmouth County. The state vows the Netflix plan will bring more jobs to New Jersey.
Tim Sullivan, a member of the governor's cabinet, spoke to News 12 New Jersey and said this is part of a push by the state to return Hollywood to its film roots. Fort Lee was one of the first film towns in the country.
