A winning ticket was sold in New Jersey for the estimated $23.2 million jackpot in Saturday night's Powerball drawing.
The winning numbers in the drawing were white balls 05, 08, 17, 27, 28, plus Powerball 14, and Power Play multiplier 3X.
According to lottery officials, it was the single ticket sold that matched all six numbers. News 12 New Jersey is told that it was sold at the Quick Mart on Lakeview Avenue in Clifton.
But there were other winners in the Garden State. A $2 million winner matched all five white balls and doubled the prize to $2 million because the ticket included the game's Power Play option -- that ticket was sold at the Quick Check on Route 206 in Stanhope, Sussex County.
And another Jersey player won $1 million by matching all five white balls but missing matching the red Powerball. That ticket was also sold at the Clifton Quick Mart.
It's the second time the Powerball jackpot has been hit this week – a $731.1 million Powerball jackpot was won by a single ticket in Maryland in the Jan. 20 drawing, lotto officials say.
The lucky ticket holder in Saturday’s drawing will have the choice between an estimated annuity of $23.2 million, paid in 30 graduated payments over 29 years, or a lump sum payment of $17.3 million before taxes.
For the next drawing on Wednesday, Jan. 27, the Powerball jackpot resets to $20 million, with a $15 million cash value.
