Jack Hughes returns to the New Jersey Devils tonight after a major stop on his celebration tour.
The Olympic hockey hero and his teammates were honored in Washington on Tuesday.
Crowds chanted "U‑S‑A" at President Trump's State of the Union as the team attended as invited guests. Before heading to the Capitol, they visited the White House and met with the president in the Oval Office.
Hughes has been celebrating since scoring the Olympic gold‑medal‑winning goal.
Nielsen, the company that measures TV viewership, said the gold medal match drew as many as 20 million viewers. It was the second‑most‑watched hockey game ever.
It remained unclear whether Hughes would play tonight against the Buffalo Sabres.
