Religious leaders and New Jersey officials attended a roundtable discussion Monday to discuss the Syrian refugee crisis.
Members of different communities and faiths attended the meeting in Highland Park. They discussed their experiences working with other refugee communities.
Rev. Seth Kaper-Dale has assisted in helping refugees settle in New Jersey in the past. He says that the nation's safety is a priority, but urges Congress to continue to help refugees.
"We're deeply concerned about security in this country, and yet we do not see any connection between the security concerns and the refugee resettlement," the reverend says. "We need to put real resources into this if we want to be concerned about humanitarian reality."
Rep. Frank Pallone stressed that no one admitted as a refugee in the United States has been involved in a terror attack.
