Newark vermin-control inspectors released a report Thursday detailing the extent of a building?s rodent infestation.
The building, at 176 Avon Ave., is home to hundreds of people in the South Ward.
"There [are] thousands of buildings in the city; it's not often that we find something like this,? says Peter Dillon, of Newark Vermin Control, about the conditions the city found at 176 Avon Ave.
Newark vermin-control officials ordered the building?s management to exterminate every apartment. The city plans to oversee the effort.
