Inmate charged with murder in death of fellow prisoner at Garden State Youth Correctional Facility
Authorities say the victim died after an assault following a religious service inside the Chesterfield prison.

A 23-year-old inmate was charged with murder in the death of a fellow prisoner at Garden State Youth Correctional Facility in Chesterfield, Burlington County prosecutors said.
Trevor Banton, of East Orange, was charged July 21 with murder in the death of 24-year-old Yasin Sellers.
The investigation began July 17 after a disturbance in the prison gymnasium following a religious service attended by multiple inmates, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office. Correctional officers found Sellers unresponsive on the floor. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A preliminary investigation determined that Sellers collapsed after being assaulted by Banton, prosecutors said.
A first court appearance for Banton is expected to be scheduled in Superior Court in Mount Holly.
