Several months after News 12 New Jersey?s I-Team investigated a credit company that was allegedly scamming its customers, the Better Business Bureau of New Jersey is officially warning consumers about Blue Hippo Funding.
Blue Hippo?s commercials claim customers can purchase anything through the company with little or no credit history. In April, the I-Team spoke with Wanda Craighead, of Lakewood, about her experience with Blue Hippo. Craighead claims after she ordered a computer from the Baltimore-based company, it arrived two months late. The I-Team also found the same computer on the manufacturer?s Web site for less than what it eventually cost through Blue Hippo.
The Better Business Bureau is now officially warning customers that Blue Hippo Funding has an unsatisfactory rating. The agency said it received more than 1,400 complaints nationwide about Blue Hippo, mostly about overpriced merchandise, late delivery and poor customer service.
A Blue Hippo representative said he was surprised by the consumer warning. He said the company is working hard to resolve consumer complaints.
