A house fire broke out early Monday morning in Long Branch near the Breakwater Beach Club.

Officials said an officer on patrol saw heavy smoke near the club on Ocean Avenue before firefighters arrived.

Crews found a nearby home in flames and responded in bitter cold conditions.

Nobody was hurt, according to officials.

It was unclear if the club was damaged as of Monday.

Investigators are looking into the cause.
