Hours of steady rain left roads flooded across New Jersey, making for treacherous driving conditions Friday.
Route 17 in Rutherford was completely underwater at one point, causing Department of Transportation crews to close down the road while they pumped water out of the area. Main Street in Lodi was also under several feet of water due to an overflowing river.
In River Vale, residents began cleaning up some of their flooded basements when the rain stopped. Meanwhile, some cars that were stuck on the flooded roads had to be towed.
