The 90th running of the $1 million Hambletonian horse race is set to take place Saturday.
The Hambletonian race is the beginning of harness racing's version of the Triple Crown. The race also ends the season at the Meadowlands racetrack.
Harness racing is a style of horse racing in which the horses competing all race trot at a specific pace, and carry riders in a cart behind them.
The Hambletonian has become so popular that a a new grandstand was built at the Meadowlands racetrack to accommodate more spectators.
