It may be a Merry Christmas after all for a homeless man attacked at the Jersey Shore.
News 12 New Jersey caught up with David Ivins on Tuesday at the Belmar Police Department. Authorities picked Ivins up to try and get him into a detox program to help get him sober.
Ivins wept when News 12 New Jersey reporter Karla Bardinas told him about the outpouring of support for him after we aired the video of his attack. Several hundred people are supporting him on a Facebook page set up in his honor. Others are contributing toward a fund through a Wall Township charity.
