Bergen County Veteran Services is teaming up with 12 local organizations to help homeless and disabled veterans find housing.
The veterans and their families will be moving into affordable housing units in Glen Rock. The groups will provide the veterans with furniture and other household items to get them started.
"We're very fortunate that we've had many solid partners in the community working to address this issue. Since 2015, we housed almost 380 veterans,” says Bergen County Veteran Services director Ariel Jacob Luna. “Besides that, the county of Bergen, along with their providers - we also get the Elks involved, the Rotary - to try to make sure those families get the support they need to restart in a new place."
The veterans and their families are scheduled to move into their new homes next week.
