Continue our breaking news coverage of the storm as places like Hoboken declare a state of emergency over fears of flooding. We've seen it all morning, take a look at this video as roads turned to rivers. The city was concerned about this and it's happened here. News 12 New Jersey's Tony Caputo has been in Hoboken all day here. Tony Hoboken takes it on the chin on a day like this, but that doesn't make it any easier that they knew it was coming. It still had an impact here. Absolutely. And that's a good point. You make Nick that a lot of folks tell us. You know, we're used to this. We've seen it. I get that. But again, every time it happens, it's difficult for somebody when it floods like this. Again, this is Monroe Street and Knife where we are right now, right behind the shop, right which many are familiar with cars still making their way through that water, but that water has receded significantly since noon today. So see the sewer grate there, water is not even running into it anymore. You can see the top, the great is off of that. I'm assuming that's from the water, lifting it off. I don't know, but it's just laying in the street and cars are going through there. Rudy, come across the road here. If you can, let's show them where we were. This is where we were earlier this morning. Folks. If you're just joining us, it looks pretty much the same. That's Ninth Street between Monroe and Madison. Those cars were there this morning. Well, there were many more cars parked there, so some folks did manage to remove their cars and get them to higher ground, which is certainly good news. But you could still see a few cars still sitting in that flooded water here on Ninth Street. There's a state of emergency in Hoboken at this time, officials asking residents not to drive. We still see vehicles making their way around, but they're asking them not to drive to stay off the roadways. I'm told they were some water rescues here in town but nothing dangerous. Really. Any water rescue has its degree of danger. But in this case, I'm told that some of the cars tried to drive through higher water and stalled, so they were stuck out there. So some Hoboken first responders and boy, we love our first responders. When they get out there helping everybody out. We saw that in Fairfield this morning as well. And again, some folks taken to safety but nothing terribly significant, no injuries to report here in Hoboken at this time. So that's certainly good news as well. And right now just getting a nice break. I mean, obviously it's not even raining out here. So we're seeing, we hit a fogged up lens and a little spritz on there, but we're seeing the water get a chance to recede. That's the latest from Hoboken, Tony Caputo News. 12 New Jersey.
