A Hudson County nail salon has polished up on its safety protocols after reopening for business.
“We was already COVID-ready before the COVID hit,” says As You Wish Nail Spa owner Skyy Hadley.
Hadley says that she started to take extra precautions at the onset of the pandemic.
“The vents up there, it’s a filter that we had to put in. It’s called the Reme Halo, so it kills any type of virus within 3-feet away,” she says.
Hadley has also put signs on the floor asking customers to remain 6-feet apart.
“When a client walks in, we ask them about their whereabouts for the last 24 hours… we take their temperatures, ask them if they can smell or taste… you have to sanitize your hands,” Hadley says.

Other new measures include plexiglass shields throughout the spa and spaced-out work stations. There are also less appointments made for nails or eyelash treatments.
Hadley says that she is prepared, but not immune from the effects of the global crisis.
“It impacted my spirit, my energy, everything,” she says.
Everyone in the spa is also required to wear masks and make appointments. As You Wish is also temporarily closed to new clients.
