High gas prices likely to stall holiday travel
The Memorial Day holiday is here, but skyrocketing gas prices may lead to fewer travelers on the road.
The latest estimate by AAA puts the price for a gallon of regular gasoline in New York at $4.10, an increase of more than 80 cents from last year.
AAA estimates that about 38 million Americans are expected to hit the roads this weekend, a decrease from last year during the traditionally traffic-heavy holiday.
Many Bronx residents may just opt for visiting the nearby Bronx Riviera, accessible by a short car ride or public transportation.
