The Hempstead High School marching band will be making its debut at its homecoming celebration on Oct.19

This is the first time in a decade that the high school has a full-fledged marching band.

"It's a great feeling. My students are both passionate and talented," says band director Leslie Rentz.

For weeks, band members have been rehearsing for the big celebration.

"This is the first time we are going to play during half-time, I am very excited," explained senior, Andrian Taj.
