Pockets of heavy rain and isolated thunderstorms will continue to move through New Jersey Thursday afternoon and evening.
Parts of the state already saw some rain Thursday morning. News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Dave Curren says that it is possible that 1-3 inches of additional rain could fall.
Curren says that flash flooding could be a concern and that low-lying areas and areas with poor drainage are also in danger of flooding. Flash flood watches are in effect for most of the state until around midnight.
Thunderstorms with some lightning strikes are possible Thursday evening. But Curren says that he does not believe that these storms will become severe.
The weather system will move out of the area by early Friday morning, leading to improved weather conditions for Friday and the weekend.
Friday will see a mix of sun and clouds with temperatures in the mid-70s.
Saturday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high of around 71 degrees.
Sunday will see mostly cloudy skies with the chance of thunderstorms returning. Temperatures will be slightly warmer in the upper-70s.
