The city's Health Department is taking to the sky to help protect Bronx residents from West Nile virus.
Officials are using helicopters to spray non-chemical larvicide in marshy and non-residential areas to reduce the mosquito population.
The treatments will target parts of Pelham Bay Park, and more specifically, the borough's 10464 and 10475 zip codes.
The pesticides are environmentally friendly, and approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the city's Department of Environmental Conservation.
