Health Department issues mumps warning amid Hunterdon County outbreak

Officials say a family cluster of eight people has suspected cases of the mumps after traveling internationally.

The New Jersey Department of Health is issuing a warning about the mumps following a suspected outbreak in a family cluster of eight people in Hunterdon County.
Officials say the cases are related to international travel.
Symptoms of the mumps include discomfort in the salivary glands, difficulty chewing, fever, pain and tenderness in the testicles, head ace, muscle aches and tiredness.
Families are urged to stay current on their measles, mumps and rubella vaccines.
