DPW flushes hydrants in Hawthorne, North Haledon

Residents in Hawthorne may begin experiencing a slight discoloration or drop in water pressure today, as hydrants in the town will be flushed as part of an annual program.

Residents in Hawthorne may have experienced a slight discoloration or drop in water pressure today, as hydrants in the town were flushed as part of an annual program.            
The same happened for residents in North Haledon, which use Hawthorne's water.
The program will continue for the next six weeks and will be done daily during regular business hours.
If there are any other issues or concerns, residents are urged to call 973-427-2378. If there is discoloration, residents should let the tap run for a few minutes until it clears up.
