A head-on crash Monday in South Brunswick trapped two people inside a vehicle, according to police.

Authorities say it happened on Route 130 and Ridge Road. One officer was injured while helping save a victim from the wreckage.

The highway was shut down in both directions following the crash. However, the northbound lane has since reopened.

Police say an investigation is ongoing and no further details are available.
