Head-on collision in Plumsted leaves 3 people dead

A Ford Bronco traveling on Pinehurst Road crossed the double yellow line and struck another vehicle head-on, killing all three people inside, police said.

Three people are dead after two vehicles collided head-on in Plumsted Sunday night.

The crash happened around 11:50 p.m., when a Ford Bronco traveling north on Pinehurst Road crossed the double yellow line and struck a southbound Toyota Sienna, according to prosecutors.

Responding officers pronounced the Toyota Sienna driver and two passengers dead at the scene. The Ford Bronco driver was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in stable condition.

The crash remains under investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit – Vehicular Homicide Squad, Plumsted Township Police Department, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit.
